Ashiyana is the on-going realization of the desire to create a spiritual home. In its highest expression this is an opportunity to meet others in the heart, beyond fear and thought. Ashiyana is a tropical retreat centre located on the beautiful and unspoiled Mandrem Beach and the enchanting Mandrem river in the very north of Goa. We warmly invite you to come and visit us between 1st October and 15th April. You can stay with us on one of our retreats, yoga holidays, yoga teacher trainings, massage trainings. Alternatively join us for yoga classes and workshops at the drop-in centre if you are staying in the area. You may also wish to enquire about our luxury accommodation. Ashiyana is the creation of a dream that Chris had for many years. The team is made up of local Goans, Indians from other states and a growing number of foreign helpers, who are mostly masseuses and teachers of yoga. The care and wellbeing of our team is as important for Ashiyana as the guests that we serve since we consider ourselves a community as much as a retreat centre. The Ashiyana Retreat Centre is on Mandrem Beach. Most of the accommodation is in a palm grove fronting the Mandrem River and faces towards the sea, which can be viewed from the upper-floor balconies of all of the eco-lodges. Many of the rooms have been built of wood, reminiscent of Indonesia or Thailand, though finishing touches are borrowed from classical Indian design.

FlexMax originated from the needs of Yoga teachers. Time and again they need images showing body postures (Asanas) for course scripts, student handouts, yoga class minutes, or publications. FlexMax solves this problem. It is the perfect tool for producing line-drawings of body postures. FlexMax is based on an Asana representation scheme used by T.K.V. Desikachar and other yoga teachers. This representation scheme by  FlexMax  combines good readability with easy drawing. Working with FlexMax is much more efficient when you use the mouse wheel for turning the parts of a figure. And if your mouse should not have a wheel - you can buy a wheel mouse for little money in any computer shop. You can use a figure of your liking as the startup figure. In FlexMax, click on your figure, then in the right window part click on Figure... and select Use this object as template for new ones. Now whenever you start FlexMax, or whenever you select New from the Figure menu, this figure will be shown. Thus you can e.g. use a startup figure which already has your preferred grayscale and line widht. Or, if you are working on a series of variants to a base position, select the base position for startup. The default database is named Database.mdb and is typically located in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\FlexMax, or, with older operating systems, C:\Windows\Application Data\FlexMax. If you have used the command Create New Database before, your current database may be located elsewhere and have a different name. You can read this information from an entry in the Windows registry. But be careful, don't change any entries in the registry. In the Start menu, select Run and enter "regedit". In the left part of the window, by clicking on the "+" signs, navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Matzka\FlexMax" and click on the folder symbol named "General". Then you will see the path of your current database in the entry "CurrentDatabase".

The word Prana is Sanskrit for 'vital life' or energy. Applied to Yoga, the term Prana Yoga most often refers to a concentration on controlled and mindful breathing, while performing the physical aspects of Yoga. Yoga is a Sanskrit word that originated in India as part of the meditative practice of the Hindu religion. Archeologists date Yoga?s history as far back as 5000 years and have also discovered similar meditative practices in other world religions such as Buddhism and Jainism. The original purpose of Yoga was to prepare the body for long periods of meditation required to reach spiritual enlightenment. Most westerners are familiar with Yoga primarily as a physical discipline that promotes strength and flexibility through various poses, known as asanas, as a form of exercise. Proper breathing through Prana Yoga brings more oxygen to the body through the respiratory and circulatory systems and thus to all vital organs and tissues. Proper exhalation helps rid the body of waste products and toxins. Modern society has produced conditions that cause us to habitually breathe in less than optimal ways. Many of us work in offices and spend the majority of our day sedentary. We also tend to slouch while we are sitting, which reduces our lung capacity and results in shallow breathing. Stress causes the muscles of our neck, shoulders and chest to contract and also contributes to shallow and rapid breathing. Because modern technology has eliminated much of the need for work requiring significant physical exertion, the need to unconsciously breathe deeply is further diminished. Prana Yoga Colombia  - Prana Yoga combines visualization, meditation, asanas and relaxation. I also offer childbirth workshops for couples where we prepare for birthing. These workshops are designed to compliment you antenatal and NCT (National Chilbirth Trust) classes. Theyoga is with the Inner Yoga Trust (British Wheel affliated). It is hatha yoga based with a focus on postural alignment and the health of the whole body. There are classes in North Queesnfery, Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay may start shortly. Babyyoga is a class especially for babies. There are Baby yoga classes in Dunfermline, Dalgety Bay & south Queensferry. I also offer baby massage one-to-ones. Weeyoga is for toddlers and pre-school kids. There are classes at local nurseries and schools in Dunfermline, Dalgety Bay. This site offers information about yoga, and classes offered within the Dunfermline, Fife (Scotland) area. Classes are currently offered in North Queensferry, Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay, South Queensferry and Dunfermline, with people coming from Burntisland, Abedour, Rosyth and Kinross.

Yoga with Les is a vinyasa/flow yoga practice. Les is one of San Francisco’s most popular and sought after teachers around the world. Les’ classes and podcasts are filled with all the basic technique and alignment cues you will need to get your yoga practice started. They are also filled with lots of variations and occasional longer sequences to challenge the more seasoned practitioner. The prana (life force) comes from within. So be prepared to sweat and let the rasa (the sap and the juice) flow freely. Les’ studies and ceremonies are steeped in Forrest tradition, having completed Ana Forrest’s teacher training. Les has also assisted Ana’s teacher training and studied many additional hours with her. Also, Les has completed several trainings with Tias Little and has learned much of his alignment and technique cues from Tias, as well as a firm foundation in the 8 Fold path of Buddhism which compliments the asana practice with a sense of grace and elegance that allow you to take classes whatever your yoga experience and whatever traditions you have in your own life. Les pays careful attention to weave in the 8 limbs of yoga and keep the traditional styles and intentions of yoga a part of his classes while making great strides into opening a window into our global cultural shift. Les’ yoga will give you an opportunity to heal your heart and laugh, cry, dance and just let go. Some classes flow freely, while others will explore holding postures a bit longer. Many classes have music. Most of all, is that in Les’ classes, you have an opportunity to modify and do what you need to do in order to take care of your practice and that in learning to take better care of yourself, you can then take better care of those around you and they might then take better care of those around them.
