Hello and welcome to our farm! Home to the Boer goat. The public is always welcome to visit our farm. We do strongly encourage a call ahead of time to ensure availability of someone to tour you around the farm and answer any questions. Anyone starting up new is also welcome to set up time when we are doing preventive treatments and maintenance to come for observation. We also welcome school groups, just make sure to give us a call ahead of time to set up a special time for your group. Keen Acres Farm Show, breeding and 4-H projects. Our farm is located in Grantsville (Calhoun County), Central, West Virginia. We breed full blooded and percentage Boer goats. Our animals are raised on an up-most quality of special blended grain mix and high grade hay. To ensure a successful health rate (in our herd) all year round, we stay up to date on all the latest technology, vaccinations and preventive treatments available. We live in hilly premises, which benefit our animals with exercise, enhancing their physics, strength, and healthy muscular tone. Even with our lowest percentage goats (bucks specially); we?ve experienced excellent growth sprouts, stoutness and body weight of up to 27-30 lbs within the first 3-4 weeks of birth. We monitor our breed closely, with vast consideration and respect for the animal?s well being, the quality of product and the integrity of our name.

Panel Pot is co-operating with the Cardigan Bay Fisherman's Association in researching the optimum mesh size for sustainable catches of prawns (shrimps). The research arm of the association is working on increasing the mesh size in the end cones to 14 mm with a view to promoting future byelaws. The Panel Pot has been carefully designed to have a very smooth finish inside and where the catch can sometimes get stuck in the corners of other pots, there is no mesh, for the catch to cling to, in the corners of the panel pot thus minimizing the damage to the catch. The pot has a built-in mesh of 10 mm square allowing small prawns to escape, The smooth surface at the start of the entrance cone stops the entry of small crabs and hermit crabs that would otherwise eat the bait and damage the catch. As a result, the cleaner catch reduces the sorting time. The importance of maintaining catch quality is crucial to getting the best price per kilo. Although the Panel Pot is very robust there will eventually be wear and tear and even storm damage. The simplicity of the design allows only the damaged panels to be removed and replaced quickly and economically. Therefore after a damaging gale which in the past destroyed whole fleets, pots can be repaired with new panels or by recycling the salvaged write-offs. Although the Panel Pot was originally designed to catch the Common Prawn it can be used to catch other species such as shore crabs (Carcinus maenus) by increasing the diameter of the entrance hole. Eels can be caught in single or double traps bolted together. he Panel Pot can he supplied ready for use or flat pack with assembly instructions. The ready to fish Panel Pot merely needs the drilling of holes to attach the pot to a spinner, and add some weight in the form of steel rods or rings.
