Desmond McLean started McLean Life Balance in July of 2003 and is operated by Desmond McLean. Desmond is a freelance Life Fitness Coach and Consultant, with more than 16 years of experience. After 9 years of work as a corporate manager, Desmond has decided to team up with other fitness, health, wellness and nutrition professionals. Their goal is to help those individuals who wish to seek and retain the results they need for a healthy and nutritional lifestyle. Desmond's happiness comes from others attaining the end result of a true healthy life style. This is why he started McLean Life Balance. He knows, helping you attain your goals will assist you in all facets of your life. Desmond McLean experienced myasthenia gravis, a neuromuscular disorder that often worsens with activity. After years of military experience Persian Gulf War, lifting competitions, being life fitness coach and a team manager for a fortune 500 company, Desmond understands the importance of persevering in the face of difficulty to rebuild the body nutritionally, emotionally and physically. This is why Desmond has started the McLean Life Balance Charitable Organization. The proceeds donated will help those individuals, veterans and non-veterans with myasthenia gravis.

Welcome to the World of Taijiquan (Tai Chi)! We have been conferred the 20th Generation Chenjiagou Disciple by Grandmaster Zhu Tian Cai, and endorsed by 17th generation Chenjiagou village elders. We are also certified Instructors. Chen Taijiquan  or Chenjiagou Taijiquan originated from a little village in Henan Province. It shares the same location as the popular Shaolin Temple. However, Chenjiagou has largely managed to preserve their traditional style against the intruding presence of media hype. It's focus on the tripartite synergies of mind, body and spirit has helped many practitioners gain a healthier body, as well as some very practical defensive martial arts techniques! The internal focus on breathing and feeling is suitable for the elderly, and helps with circulation and building flexibility back into joints. The routine can be practised gently, like meditation in motion or it can be practised aggressively for a good aerobic workout. It is a truly versatile form exercise. There are many variants of Chen Style Taijiquan being practised all over the world. Chen Style 56 movement-competition routine, Chen Style 83 movement, Chen Style 37 movement particular to the Beijing/Shanghai area just to name a few. However most of these which are taught - are quite different in characteristic in comparison to what is passed down within Chenjiagou (Chen Village). So in order to differentiate ourselves from the commercialized (or 'sport') versions out there, the "Chenjiagou" (Chen Village) tag is used here to single ourselves out, in deference as well as in concurrence with the wish of our teacher, Master Zhu Tian Cai.
